The Red Cross provides financial assistance to veterans and military families through the Military Aid Society program.

The program issues no interest loans to military families showing financial need.

Action for a Better Community is a Community Action Agency that promotes and provides opportunities for low-income individuals and families to become self-sufficient. Their programs include: Head Start/Early Head Start, Youth Services program, Adult programs, Community and Health Services.


Catholic Family Center

The agency provides programs in the core areas of families, housing services, behavioral health and social policy and research. It has many comprehensive programs.


Department of Human Services

Lifespan of Rochester

Lifespan provides free, unbiased, nothing-to-sell workshops and one-on-one consultations in several areas that apply to both our aging community and their caregivers.

Provides financial assistance in the form of utility assistance.

PathStone is a private, not-for-profit regional community development and human service organization providing services to farmworkers, low-income families and economically depressed communities.


Project Share 1(800)-599-4327

Project SHARE Heating Fund (PSHF) is another assistance program available to customers who meet the HEAP income guideline, have an active account with NYSEG or RG&E, and have an active disconnect notice. Active duty military members and well-discharged veterans may qualify regardless of income. For more information, call 1-800-599-4327 and ask about the Project SHARE Heating Fund.

The Storehouse- Clothing Closet

This location administers a number of resources. For example, the center distributes new or second hand clothing, linens, kitchenware, children's books, toys and even games. Basic needs and emergency assistance is offered.


2nd Chance Breath of Life Community Center
